jill gruetzmacher

My name is Jill Gruetzmacher. I graduated in 2000 from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Communications. I’m still very involved with the university as President of the Penn Club Southwest Ohio and Chair of the Penn Alumni Interview Program Cincinnati.

After college graduation I moved to Manhattan, NY and pursued a career in sales and marketing in the fashion industry followed by Moet Hennessy, USA. In 2007, I needed a break from the chaos and I moved to the Greater Cincinnati area where I made a major career change; I decided to pursue my love of children and math. I received my Masters in Teaching from NKU and subsequently, taught middle grades mathematics for 6 years. While teaching I founded a professional development community for teachers called a Math Teachers’ Circle under the guidance and support of the American Institute of Mathematics and the National Science Foundation.

I currently run sales and marketing for a small startup in Cincinnati and tutor in my free time. I still have many friends and family in New York City and I visit frequently with my 10 year old daughter, Marietta.

Teaching students to love and understand math is my gift. I have always known this which is why I’m so excited about Math Awakening. Thank you for joining me on this journey and I look forward to growing together.

Sincerely,
Ms. G

My gift has always been in my relationships with my students and our abilities to relate and communicate with one another.
